A single-storey penthouse and its roof terrace in the City of London, close to the river, photographed across a day and into dusk.
The view does most of the work from up here. We shot the rooms while the light was flat, then stayed on into the evening when the skyline comes up. We photographed the terrace twice, once in daylight for the space and again at dusk for the outlook.
The daylight and dusk frames were balanced together at the studio so the apartment reads as one shoot.
The brief
Our client needed the penthouse and terrace for the sales material, day and dusk. Apartments this high carry a lot of glass and reflected city, so we allowed the time to work the light before finishing the images at the studio.
